Corn snakes are active and love to explore:
- Adults: 40 gallon breeder minimum, ideally 4'x2'x2' or larger
- Juveniles: 20 gallon long
- Hatchlings: 10 gallon
- Corn snakes are escape artists — secure lid is essential

Corn snakes enjoy a temperature gradient and will bask. Provide a basking spot with a heat lamp.
💧 Humidity
Corn snakes are hardy and tolerate varying humidity:
- Normal: 40-50% humidity is fine
- During shed: Increase to 60-70%
- Provide a humid hide during shedding
🍽️ Feeding
Corn snakes are excellent feeders:
- Prey size: 10-15% of snake's body weight
- Feeding frequency:
- Hatchlings: every 5-7 days
- Juveniles: every 7-10 days
- Adults: every 10-14 days
- Usually accept frozen/thawed readily
- May refuse food during breeding season
🧱 Substrate

- Corn snakes like to burrow — provide 2-3" of substrate
🤝 Handling
Corn snakes are generally docile and easy to handle:
- Handle 1-2 days after feeding to prevent regurgitation
- Support the snake's body — don't grip tightly
- Most tolerate handling well
- May be more defensive during shed — give space
